Novel Alliances

Novel Alliances is a collection of essays, notes, and reflections on the arts, literature, and new media shared from an allied perspective. The blog began as a way for the author to share conference papers, but it gradually became a space to workshop new ideas, begin conversations, and meet potential collaborators. You can read more on the how Novel Alliances functions as a research and publishing tool here.

Novel Alliances also hosts content, particularly teaching resources and student contributions, from third party contributors. See, for instance, the Collective Statement of Learning, written by the students of FNIS 310. David Gaertner is an Assistant Professor and a settler scholar in the First Nations and Indigenous Studies Program at the University of British Columbia. He researches and teaches literature and new media and digital storytelling from a social justice framework. Read more about David here.
